Top Simple Tips and Tricks For WhatsApp Users

Top Simple Tips and Tricks For WhatsApp users
Easy Tips and Tricks For WhatsApp users
WhatsApp is undoubtedly the most popular mobile messaging service app that is used on the smartphone. Earlier this year, the Facebook-owned WhatsApp hit the 1 billion user mark and left behind Facebook’s own Messenger as the most widely used chat app in the world. Back in April, WhatsApp also rolled out end-to-end encryption on all of its devices.
While WhatsApp is easy to use, there are also some hidden features and twists that we tend to miss out on. Moreover, popular messaging service keeps on adding features inconspicuously, that it becomes very important for us to be up to date.
While there are many tips and tricks that you can use on WhatsApp, we bring to you those tips and tricks that will help you get started if you are a beginner.
1) Hiding Last Seen, Profile Picture And Status
The dreaded “last seen” feature can be the reason behind problems in life and keeping that in mind, WhatsApp has included the ability to hide it completely. You can hide your last seen, profile picture and status from people. To disable “Last Seen”, go to Settings > Account > Privacy > Last Seen. There you will have the options to select from if you want your last seen, profile picture and status to be seen by “Everyone”, “Contacts” or “Nobody”. Select “Nobody” and now your WhatsApp activities are now a secret to everyone but you. However, note that if you hide your last seen, you won’t be able to see others last seen as well.
2) Check When A Message Was Read
WhatsApp allows you to check when a message sent by you was read first. All you need to do is press hold on a message and tap “Info”. Once done, you will be able to see the time when your message was delivered and read.

3) Read Messages Without Others Seeing The Blue Check Marks
The blue ticks that appear beside a WhatsApp message indicate that the message has been read. However, the blue check marks make disregarding messages all the more difficult without giving yourself away. While a user’s “Last Seen” timestamp only tells you when a user was last on WhatsApp, the blue ticks leaves no room for explanation.
Fortunately, you can read WhatsApp messages without pressing the alarm button. Enable Airplane Mode to temporarily kill your Internet connection. Once done, you can check your messages freely without giving yourself away. Similarly, you can enable banner notifications for Whatsapp, which allows you to read brief messages without opening the app.
If everything fails, you can turn off the blue ticks all together. Go to Settings > Account > Privacy. Switch the toggle off on “Read Receipts.” You can now ignore all your friends and loved ones without hurting their feelings!
4) Change Your Number
There may be times when we move to a new place and we have to take a new number. In that case, you can simply change your phone number on WhatsApp without losing any of your chats or data.
Head over to Settings > Account > Change number, then enter your old and new number.
Once WhatsApp verifies your number through SMS or call, it will be changed.

Falcon have been tested in softpedia and other popular download sites testing labs and approved to be very good and free from spyware and viruses.
Whats makes falcon browser unique from it competitors?
Probably the distinguishing factor is that the program requires no installation, as it is Java-based, and this allows it to be employed by users from virtually any platform. All the standard browser tools are available, such as the address bar, back, refresh, and forward commands, as well as zoom functions.
The layout is very user-friendly, as large buttons control most of the program’s navigation. As with most other browsers, the GUI is very clean and users will find no menu items cluttering the interface; all the main functions can be accessed via a simple button placed on the upper-right area.

Unlike other browsers like Google Chrome, Firefox Mozilla, Opera, Internet Exporer, Safari, etc Falcon has an in-built MySQL console. The Falcon MySQL console is a query builder that assists developers in managing contents of their MySQL databases, allowing them to execute standard SQL queries to communicate with their database in which a select query returns a batch of records from the database, it also also has a log feature which keep track of user errors. Falconís MySQL console was developed with TyphoonDBMS in mind. TyphoonDBMS is a comprehensive and reliable application that was developed to assist user in managing the contents of Oracle databases, enabling user to add, edit or remove tables without needing to resort to SQL statements to get the job done. For most MySQL developers, this console will come in handy; you wonít have to launch myphpadmin to access your database anymore.

Alternative Ways to speed your Computer (XP, Win 7 & 8, 10)

Since defragging the disk won't do much to improve Windows XP performance, here are 23 suggestions that will. Each can enhance the performance and reliability of your customers' PCs. Best of all, most of them will cost you nothing.
1.) To decrease a system's boot time and increase system performance, use the money you save by not buying defragmentation software -- the built-in Windows defragmenter works just fine -- and instead equip the computer with an Ultra-133 or Serial ATA hard drive with 8-MB cache buffer.

2.) If a PC has less than 512 MB of RAM, add more memory. This is a relatively inexpensive and easy upgrade that can dramatically improve system performance.

3.) Ensure that Windows XP is utilizing the NTFS file system. If you're not sure, here's how to check: First, double-click the My Computer icon, right-click on the C: Drive, then select Properties. Next, examine the File System type; if it says FAT32, then back-up any important data. Next, click Start, click Run, type CMD, and then click OK. At the prompt, type CONVERT C: /FS:NTFS and press the Enter key. This process may take a while; it's important that the computer be uninterrupted and virus-free. The file system used by the bootable drive will be either FAT32 or NTFS. I highly recommend NTFS for its superior security, reliability, and efficiency with larger disk drives.

4.) Disable file indexing. The indexing service extracts information from documents and other files on the hard drive and creates a "searchable keyword index." As you can imagine, this process can be quite taxing on any system.

The idea is that the user can search for a word, phrase, or property inside a document, should they have hundreds or thousands of documents and not know the file name of the document they want. Windows XP's built-in search functionality can still perform these kinds of searches without the Indexing service. It just takes longer. The OS has to open each file at the time of the request to help find what the user is looking for.

Most people never need this feature of search. Those who do are typically in a large corporate environment where thousands of documents are located on at least one server. But if you're a typical system builder, most of your clients are small and medium businesses. And if your clients have no need for this search feature, I recommend disabling it.

Here's how: First, double-click the My Computer icon. Next, right-click on the C: Drive, then select Properties. Uncheck "Allow Indexing Service to index this disk for fast file searching." Next, apply changes to "C: subfolders and files," and click OK. If a warning or error message appears (such as "Access is denied"), click the Ignore All button.

5.) Update the PC's video and motherboard chipset drivers. Also, update and configure the BIOS. For more information on how to configure your BIOS properly, see this article on my site.

6.) Empty the Windows Prefetch folder every three months or so. Windows XP can "prefetch" portions of data and applications that are used frequently. This makes processes appear to load faster when called upon by the user. That's fine. But over time, the prefetch folder may become overloaded with references to files and applications no longer in use. When that happens, Windows XP is wasting time, and slowing system performance, by pre-loading them. Nothing critical is in this folder, and the entire contents are safe to delete.

7.) Once a month, run a disk cleanup. Here's how: Double-click the My Computer icon. Then right-click on the C: drive and select Properties. Click the Disk Cleanup button -- it's just to the right of the Capacity pie graph -- and delete all temporary files.

8.) In your Device Manager, double-click on the IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers device, and ensure that DMA is enabled for each drive you have connected to the Primary and Secondary controller. Do this by double-clicking on Primary IDE Channel. Then click the Advanced Settings tab. Ensure the Transfer Mode is set to "DMA if available" for both Device 0 and Device 1. Then repeat this process with the Secondary IDE Channel.

9.) Upgrade the cabling. As hard-drive technology improves, the cabling requirements to achieve these performance boosts have become more stringent. Be sure to use 80-wire Ultra-133 cables on all of your IDE devices with the connectors properly assigned to the matching Master/Slave/Motherboard sockets. A single device must be at the end of the cable; connecting a single drive to the middle connector on a ribbon cable will cause signaling problems. With Ultra DMA hard drives, these signaling problems will prevent the drive from performing at its maximum potential. Also, because these cables inherently support "cable select," the location of each drive on the cable is important. For these reasons, the cable is designed so drive positioning is explicitly clear.

10.) Remove all spyware from the computer. Use free programs such as AdAware by Lavasoft or SpyBot Search & Destroy. Once these programs are installed, be sure to check for and download any updates before starting your search. Anything either program finds can be safely removed. Any free software that requires spyware to run will no longer function once the spyware portion has been removed; if your customer really wants the program even though it contains spyware, simply reinstall it. For more information on removing Spyware visit this Web Pro News page.

11.) Remove any unnecessary programs and/or items from Windows Startup routine using the MSCONFIG utility. Here's how: First, click Start, click Run, type MSCONFIG, and click OK. Click the StartUp tab, then uncheck any items you don't want to start when Windows starts. Unsure what some items are? Visit the WinTasks Process Library. It contains known system processes, applications, as well as spyware references and explanations. Or quickly identify them by searching for the filenames using Google or another Web search engine.

12.) Remove any unnecessary or unused programs from the Add/Remove Programs section of the Control Panel.

13.) Turn off any and all unnecessary animations, and disable active desktop. In fact, for optimal performance, turn off all animations. Windows XP offers many different settings in this area. Here's how to do it: First click on the System icon in the Control Panel. Next, click on the Advanced tab. Select the Settings button located under Performance. Feel free to play around with the options offered here, as nothing you can change will alter the reliability of the computer -- only its responsiveness.

14.) If your customer is an advanced user who is comfortable editing their registry, try some of the performance registry tweaks offered at Tweak XP.

15.) Visit Microsoft's Windows update site regularly, and download all updates labeled Critical. Download any optional updates at your discretion.

16.) Update the customer's anti-virus software on a weekly, even daily, basis. Make sure they have only one anti-virus software package installed. Mixing anti-virus software is a sure way to spell disaster for performance and reliability.

17.) Make sure the customer has fewer than 500 type fonts installed on their computer. The more fonts they have, the slower the system will become. While Windows XP handles fonts much more efficiently than did the previous versions of Windows, too many fonts -- that is, anything over 500 -- will noticeably tax the system.

18.) Do not partition the hard drive. Windows XP's NTFS file system runs more efficiently on one large partition. The data is no safer on a separate partition, and a reformat is never necessary to reinstall an operating system. The same excuses people offer for using partitions apply to using a folder instead. For example, instead of putting all your data on the D: drive, put it in a folder called "D drive." You'll achieve the same organizational benefits that a separate partition offers, but without the degradation in system performance. Also, your free space won't be limited by the size of the partition; instead, it will be limited by the size of the entire hard drive. This means you won't need to resize any partitions, ever. That task can be time-consuming and also can result in lost data.

19.) Check the system's RAM to ensure it is operating properly. I recommend using a free program called MemTest86. The download will make a bootable CD or diskette (your choice), which will run 10 extensive tests on the PC's memory automatically after you boot to the disk you created. Allow all tests to run until at least three passes of the 10 tests are completed. If the program encounters any errors, turn off and unplug the computer, remove a stick of memory (assuming you have more than one), and run the test again. Remember, bad memory cannot be repaired, but only replaced.

20.) If the PC has a CD or DVD recorder, check the drive manufacturer's Web site for updated firmware. In some cases you'll be able to upgrade the recorder to a faster speed. Best of all, it's free.

21.) Disable unnecessary services. Windows XP loads a lot of services that your customer most likely does not need. To determine which services you can disable for your client, visit the Black Viper site for Windows XP configurations.

22.) If you're sick of a single Windows Explorer window crashing and then taking the rest of your OS down with it, then follow this tip: open My Computer, click on Tools, then Folder Options. Now click on the View tab. Scroll down to "Launch folder windows in a separate process," and enable this option. You'll have to reboot your machine for this option to take effect.

23.) At least once a year, open the computer's cases and blow out all the dust and debris. While you're in there, check that all the fans are turning properly. Also inspect the motherboard capacitors for bulging or leaks. For more information on this leaking-capacitor phenomena, you can read numerous articles on my site.

Following any of these suggestions should result in noticeable improvements to the performance and reliability of your customers' computers. If you still want to defrag a disk, remember that the main benefit will be to make your data more retrievable in the event of a crashed drive.

Installing Android OS on your Computer

Here's an easy way that you can install Android OS on your desktop computer. When you install the operating
system on a USB flash drive, you won't have to create a new partition or uninstall the operating system again.
Make certain that your USB flash drive has at least 256 megabytes of memory space available on it. And, don't
forget to remove any files on the device that you want to keep. You can either save your files on another external storage device, or your hard drive.
Instructions
Step 1:
Connect your USB flash drive to a USB port on your desktop computer. Launch your Web browser. Type the
URL address "android-x86.org/download” in the search field. Click the “Search” button when you are done.
Step 2:
Scroll down the Web page until you see the“StableRelease” section. Click the “View” hyperlink under
the file name “android-x86-1.6-r2.iiso” and then press the “OK” button.

Step 3:
Return back to your browser and type the URL address “unetbootin.sourceforge.net/” in the the search field.
Click the “Search” button. Click the “Download (for Windows)” button. Press the “Save File” button after the
pop up box appears on your computer monitor display screen.
Step 4:
Go to your desktop and double-click on the “Unetbootin”
icon to run the file. Click the radio button next to “Diskimage” and then click the “… “ button. Select the name of the Android ISO file that you previously
downloaded on your desktop computer. Click on the drop-down menu arrow next to “Type” and select the
option “USB Drive.” Then click the drop-down menu arrow next to “Drive” and select the drive letter for the
USB flash drive. Press the “OK” button when you are done.
Step 5:
Wait for “Unetbootin” to finish copying all of its files to the USB flash drive. Click the “Reboot” button to restart
your computer from the USB flash drive. In some cases, you may have to change the boot sequence order in
your BIOS, if your computer doesn't automatically boot from the USB flash drive.
Step 6:
Press the “F2”, “F10”, or “Delete” key on your keyboard to enter BIOS. Follow the onscreen instructions and use
the appropriate keys to navigate through your BIOS.
Change the boot sequence, so the USB flash drive boots first and then your hard drive. When you're done making
your changes, press the “ESC” to save your settings and exit BIOS. Your computer will automatically restart and
boot from the USB flash drive.
Step 7: Select the option “Live CD - Run Android-x86 without installation” to load Android OS. In a few moments, Android's desktop interface will appear on your computer monitor display screen. Select an application from the “Home” screen. Or, you can open the menu andselect another option that you want to use.

Add your name to right click Menu

You are welcome to my tips and tricks blog. This time, I want to share an interesting trick with you. This trick is
about how you can add your name to the right click application menu of your computer. I’m sure you understand what I mean. In essence, when you right
click on your computer desktop, you get some options like: VIEW, SORT BY, REFRESH, NEW and so on, with
this registry trick, you’ll be able to include your name in the list of the options. That sounds impossible and interesting, right? Let’s go there! Before taking you into
the details, I wanna assure you that I have tried this registry trick and it worked for me, but trying this on
your computer will be at your own risk. To add your name to the right click menu of your computer application menu, simply copy the following registry
code into notepad and save it with anything you like dot
reg. for example, I saved mine with ayz.reg before installed it. I hope you understand that? Now the code:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_CLASSES_
ROOT\CLSID\{20D04FE0-3AEA-1069-
A2D8-08002B30309D}\shell\Registry Editor] @="Enter
your name here"
Now replace the ‘Enter your name here’ don’t delete the
double quotes. with your name and don’t forget to save the code with .reg extension like I said earlier. I’ll
suggest you save it on your desktop. Now that you've saved the code, double click on it on your desktop and
install it. Once installed, you’re done! Once you right click , your name will be included in the list of options. Now that you’ve known how to include your name inthe right click application menu, be generous by sharing it with others by using any of the sharing tools below.
In one of my future posts, I’ll show you how to include any application of your choice in the right click menu.
Till then...

How to remove write protected from Pen disk

Drive restrictions is one of the most  annoying things in the USB world. Nothing comes painful than her you need your drive seriously and it becomes restricted. Here are some of  the easiest  ways to remove USB restrictions

1. Open Start Menu
2. Run, type regedit and press Enter, this will open the registry editor.
3. Navigate to the following path:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet
\Control\StorageDevicePolicies
4. Double click the key WriteProtect in the right pane and set the value to 0 In the Value Data Box and press OK button
5.Exit Registry

Bingo.

Method 2
There are a series of options in the Group Policy Object Editor that deal with read/write permissions on hard
drives and removable media. I basically changed their individual settings from “Not configured” to “Disabled”.
Start -> Run… -> gpedit.msc -> OK
Computer Configuration -> Administrative Templates ->
System -> Removable Storage Access
In here I disabled all of the “Deny read access/write access” options; you may only want to disable the ones
relating directly to the type of media that you want to access.
Here are the ones I changed:
Removable Disks: Deny execute access
Removable Disks: Deny read access
Removable Disks: Deny write access
Double-click each one and select the ‘ Disabled ‘ radio button.
Do the same as above, except the first step is “User Configuration” instead of “Computer Configuration“

THE BEAUTIFUL WINDOWS 8 BACKGROUND, YOU ALWAYS WISHING

Windows 8’s new Start screen has been hotly debated since the operating system launched in preview mode earlier this year. Acknowledged by some as a bold step into the tablet market, and criticized by many others who prefer the familiar desktop experience, the new
'Modern UI Style' home is here to stay. But beyond not offering a way to bypass this screen (not without the help of third-party utilities), surprisingly Microsoft is
also limiting your options when it comes to customising the Start screen's appearance. You can choose from a
couple color schemes and 10 stock background images, but that's about it.
We've seen some workarounds before but they require firing up the HEX editor to modify system files, and you
are still limited to 256-color background images in a handful of specific sizes. That’s more work than most
people are probably willing to bother with and as you can imagine the results are not quite optimal.
Enter Decor8. Stardock’s latest Windows 8 customization app removes this limitation by giving users the ability to pick any picture they want, regardless of size or color range, as the Start screen
background.
The program is pretty straightforward to use. Upon launching Decor8, you’ll be presented with a set of background images to choose from, including the start screen and desktop background images that Windows 8 ships with and also a set of wallpapers that Stardock
ships with the app. You get the usual fill, fit, tile and center options available in the classic desktop, and the program will automatically create a color scheme to
match each of your background images -- or you can
manually customize the color scheme if you’re so inclined. You can add folders to the program to use your own
photos and images as background. There’s also the option to select multiple background images by holding
down the Ctrl key, and have them rotate on a set time interval, as well as the option to fade background
images against the start screen color for a subtle effect. Sadly, Decor8 is not free. Stardock offers a free 30-day
trial but otherwise asks a modest $4.99 for the app. It's a little unnerving to pay for such basic functionality but
if you wish to customize the Windows 8 Start screen beyond what Microsoft offers this is the easiest-to-use
tool we’ve found. It does one thing and it does it well. Other useful Windows 8 tweaks While we are at it, you may want to revisit other ways
to customize and tweak Windows 8 to your liking. Bring back the classic start menu. Another common
complaint about Windows 8 is the lack of the old and trustworthy Start menu button on the desktop.
Fortunately there are a handful of replacements available from third-parties, including the open source
Classic Shell, Stardock’s Start8 , and Pokki.
Simplify search. Windows search isn't perfect. Some of us would argue it's been getting worse . Although
you can't do much about this you can make results less cluttered by excluding some apps you don’t
intend to use. Go to Win + I > Change PC Settings >Search to manage the search list.Restart Explorer. If Explorer locks up for some reason,
there’s no need to close the process any more. Just hit press Ctrl+Shift+Esc to open the Task Manager,
select Explorer in the list, and click Restart on the bottom-right corner of the window (or through the
right-click contextual menu).
Keyboard shortcuts and more. Even before Windows 8
was finalized we were getting our hands dirty discovering what the new OS had to offer. Follow us here

Simple Compulsory Keyboard Tips

Using keyboard shortcuts can greatly
increase your productivity, reduce repetitivestrain, and help keep
you focused. For example, highlighting text with the keyboard and pressing Ctrl + C is much faster than taking your hand from the keyboard, highlighting the
text using the mouse, clicking copy from the file menu, and then putting your hand back in place on the keyboard. Below are our top 10 keyboard shortcuts we
recommend everyone memorize and use.
Ctrl + C or Ctrl + Insert
Both Ctrl + C and Ctrl + Insert will copy the highlighted text or selected item.
Ctrl + V or Shift + Insert
Both the Ctrl + V and Shift + Insert will paste the text or object that's in the clipboard . Ctrl + Z and Ctrl + Y
Undo any change. For example, if you cut text, pressing this will undo it. This can also often be pressed multiple
times to undo multiple changes. Pressing Ctrl + Y would redo the undo.
Ctrl + F Pressing Ctrl + F opens the Find in any program. This includes your Internet browser to find text on the
current page. Alt + Tab or Ctrl + Tab
Quickly switch between open programs moving forward.
Tip: Press Ctrl + Tab to switch between tabs in a program.
Tip: Adding the Shift key to Alt + Tab or Ctrl + Tab will move backwards. For example, if you are pressing Alt +
Tab and pass the program you want to switch to, press Alt + Shift + Tab to move backwards to that program.
Tip: Windows Vista and 7 users can also press the Windows Key + Tab to switch through open programs in
a full screenshot of the Window.
Ctrl + Back space and Ctrl + Left or Right arrow Pressing Ctrl + Backspace will delete a full word at a
time instead of a single character.
Holding down the Ctrl key while pressing the left or right arrow will move the cursor one word at a time
instead of one character at a time. If you wanted to highlight one word at a time you can hold down Ctrl +
Shift and then press the left or right arrow key to move one word at a time in that direction while highlighting each word.
Ctrl + S
While working on a document or other file in almostevery program pressing Ctrl + S saves that file. This shortcut key should be used frequently anytime you're
working on anything important.
Ctrl + Home or Ctrl + End
Ctrl + Home will move the cursor to the beginning of the
document and Ctrl + End will move the cursor to the end of a document.
Ctrl + P
Open a print preview of the current page or document being viewed. For example, press Ctrl + P now to view a print preview of this page. Page Up, Space bar, and Page Down Pressing either the page up or page down key will move that page one page at a time in that direction. Whenbrowsing the Internet pressing the space bar also moves the page down one page at a time.
Tip: If you are using the space bar to go down one Page at a time press the Shift key and space bar to go up
one page at a time. Try your hands on it today
